Bachelorette has her man

Tonight's "After the Rose Special" will undoubtedly feature Jillian is a floor length dress telling us all how madly in love with Ed she is. I found this season very interesting, lots of twists and turns. I also thought it was surprising how many of the men (3 total) were allowed to return after they were kicked off or left the show to talk with Jillian. Of course, that adds drama, which ABC loves, but it was laughable how she had these men wrapped around her finger so well that when she sent them packing, they couldn't leave it at that. I also enjoyed the discussion on the Men Tell All episode of the Man Code. It was Man Code that wouldn't let the guys tell Jillian that sneaky Wes talked of a girlfriend back home. They continued to tell the cameras that Wes wasn't here for the right reasons, but no one told Jillian (except creeper Tanner "I want to love her as much as her feet" P) that someone wasn't here for her. Although he chickened out when she asked for a name, Tanner did tell Jillian, thus ruining a cocktail party/rose ceremony/kissfest. For today, Ed and Jillian are one big happy couple. I agree that you can find love quickly and even marry quickly (hello!) but I didn't do it with hand-picked choices and a signed contract stating I would accept a proposal at the end of the six-week dating period. I hope for love's sake, they survive, but it is doubtful. Good luck.

The Bachelorette - final 2 - MEN TELL ALL

The Men Tell All episode is tonight and I'm anxious to see what everyone has to say about poor old Wes and his failure at playing the editing game. I don't know if he'll even attend, and hopefully they'll announce one of the bachelors this year to be the next Bachelor, like our pilot friend who was too perfect for Jillian.
My prediction for next week's finale will be Ed to propose, but there seems to be an upset on the horizon. I don't like that Jillian feels like she constantly has to impress Kiptyn. She worked too hard to have Wes like her and I think she's working hard here too. Love shouldn't be like that. But that's my opinion, and not everyone agrees on that one.
Here's my summer reality TV watching schedule:
The Bachelorette - 3 more episodes - Men Tell All, Finale, After the Final Rose
Big Brother - just got started
Tori & Dean - 1/2 way through
Kathy Griffin - 1/2 way through
Dance Your A$$ Off - I'm two episodes behind (no pun intended) but I'll catch up
Project Runway starts in August on Lifetime

I guess it's a good thing that I workout while I watch all this TV or I'd really be in trouble! :)

Have a good remaining 32 days of summer!

The Bachelorette - final 4

Ok, so I haven't blogged about this before, but this seems to me to be an enjoyable season to cover the concept of editing. This guy Wes has to be an amazing gift to these producers. He gave them soundbite after soundbite, claiming he was acting at the end, and telling the other guys...something...at the rose ceremony if it wasn't him. He is classless and unfortunately, he thinks any publicity is good publicity. Please, America, don't buy his album, don't prove him right.
So Miss Jilly is down to her final four - Kiptyn (whose entire family has weird names and seem down to earth but are extremely RICH!!); Reid (who looks like Matthew Perry with or without his glasses, which is a great thing for me - he's funny, too!); Ed (who Jilly just wants to make out with rather than talk with to make up for lost kisses while Ed rightfully chose his job during a recession rather than TV love, since we all know that that lasts forever, eh?), and Wes, aforementioned weasel.
I fastforwarded through my recorded 2-hr extravaganza, so I don't know that I got every morsel, but I got the good stuff. Kiptyn's not used to chasing the girl, and has doubts that he'll propose at the end of this - if that doesn't change - he'll be the next to go; Reid isn't telling her he loves her yet but he's getting there - I pick him for the final 2; Ed - has some catching up to do, not sure about him yet, but still plan to see him in the final two - but I believe Reid will propose at the end. We'll see. Previews show Miss Jilly crying about "it's not supposed to happen again this way," so maybe Ed has to go back to work and sends a card instead of his person at the final rose. Who knows?
I'm very glad that Wes thinks he'll be returning to Austin and "having lots of sex". Classy - the epitome of class, this one. Kidding. Glad to see him gone, even if he says he had a girlfriend now, and she, Laurel, denies it. Interesting, but not enough to care.
Only a few more weeks to go. Aloha (that's hello and goodbye - we're headed to Hawaii next!)

Tori & Dean

Some would say I watch a lot of reality TV, especially in the summer. Some would be right, but if they judge, I say, whatever. My guilty pleasure is TV, although I really can't even begin to stomach anything on MTV anymore, the birthplace of reality TV. So I missed the first episode of Tori and Dean since school got out late, but I'm right back in the swing of things. So, as far as ep 2 of this season goes, Tori has two children with Dean, whom she met while he was still married and I think she was still married, which I have a slight problem with. Not enough to not watch the show. I don't feel like Tori is as annoying as say, Kate Gosselin, but she has her moments, and yet, being a mom with dogs and thinking of moving, we have SO much in common, so here we go:
This ep followed Dean's latest "hobby" (read obsession) with motorcycles. I agree with Tori that his dangerous sport of hobby, SCUBA diving was last season, is a little much, but she herself is a workaholic with two books, her clothing line for kids, her jewelry line, and two kids under 3, so they can both take a rest. I guess if they did that, there would be no show, but still.
I love Patsy - she's back as the kids' nanny and in this ep, we discover that she has lost ALL THREE of her grown children in the last two-three years. Are you kidding me? No one should go through that much pain. I'm shocked she's still alive! She uses food to medicate. Been there done that, but girl, I would have to be 70,000 lbs if I used as much medication as it would take for me to function after all three "passed on." Forget it.
Anyway, skinny minny (almost too skinny) Tori suggests the doctor, which is a good idea, but I think they are leaning toward the gastric bypass deal, which in Hollywood might fly, but since I've lost 50 lbs. with Weight Watchers in one semester, I know Patsy can do it, she just isn't that intrinsically motivated. At least, it worked for me. So anyway, good luck to her and we'll see what happens.
Tori was the grand marshall for a Mother Goose parade in San Diego and since Dean and her son were sick/tired and cleaning up diarrhea from dogs (been there, done that), she took Patsy and Stella and went "alone". Of course, her gay best friends, she calls the Guncles (Gay Uncles) arrived to escort her, but I was hoping that they wouldn't. She hasn't been to an "event" since she was 15 alone, and I think she needs to. But I kinda relate to worrying about things done as a couple separately and if that will work their way home. But the man was sick providing for his family, so we'll give him a break on that one.
Until next week, which might even be this week since I'm still behind.
